CSIO Barcelona is proud to announce its partnership with young equestrian talent Sira Martínez, who joins as the event’s new ambassador. One of Spain’s brightest rising stars on both the national and international equestrian scenes, Sira will now represent the oldest international sporting event in Spain—home for the past eleven years to the Longines League of Nations™ Final.
Crowned Spanish Young Riders Champion in 2020, Sira Martínez has carved out a strong reputation in the world of show jumping. She currently trains under Olympic rider Pedro Veniss and has competed internationally as part of the Spanish national team.
Her connection with CSIO Barcelona runs deep. A lifelong spectator since childhood, Sira has been competing in the event for several years and is also a member of the host club—further strengthening her bond with the competition. Her appointment as ambassador is a natural step, reflecting both her passion for equestrian sport and her commitment to this prestigious event.
The choice of Sira Martínez as ambassador is both meaningful and fitting. She embodies the core values of CSIO Barcelona: youth, dedication, sporting excellence, forward-looking ambition, and a deep love for equestrianism. She represents the generational shift in the sport and resonates with younger audiences while upholding the tradition and legacy of the event.
“I’m incredibly excited to be named ambassador for CSIO Barcelona. It’s always been my favourite competition—one I’ve attended with my family since I was little, and where I’ve had the privilege of competing for years,” said Sira Martínez upon the official announcement.
“We are extremely proud to have Sira as our ambassador. Her emotional connection to the event, her youth, and her international outlook make her the perfect person to represent our values and accompany us in this new chapter. With her, we reaffirm our commitment to the future of equestrian sport and to the next generation,” stated Santiago Mercé, President of CSIO Barcelona.
