CSIO Barcelona 2017 horses will jump the "Eixample"
This morning, the Saló de Cròniques (Hall of Chronicles) of the Barcelona City Hall, hosted the presentation of the obstacle “L’Eixample”, within the framework of CSIO Barcelona 2017, the oldest international competition in Spain.
The obstacle, which represents the street layout of the Eixample District, has been designed by Maica Avenido and Jialen Yangji, students of the prestigious Escola Massana Art and Design Center, whose project won the third edition of the contest “A Jump for the City”, an initiative supported by the Barcelona Equestrian Challenge.

CSIO Barcelona presents its "Jump for the City"
Next Monday, September 18 at 12:00 p.m., the obstacle will be officially presented in front of Barcelona’s City Council. In addition to the two project designers, David Escudé, Barcelona City Council’s Commissioner for Sport; Emilio Zegrí, Real Club de Polo de Barcelona Foundation President; Santiago Mercé, CSIO Barcelona President; and Daniel Garcia Giró, CSIO Barcelona Director, will be present at the event.
Countdown to CSIO Barcelona 2017 begins with Longines as new Title Sponsor
With less than a month to go to the start of CSIO Barcelona 2017, everything at the Real Polo Club de Barcelona (RPCB) is in place to welcome the world's best riders and horses. From September 28th to October 1st , the Barcelona club's Olympic facilities will play host to Spain's oldest international sporting event, which this year celebrates its 106th edition. Longines becomes title partner of the FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping
Longines will become title partner of the FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping series as part of a long-term agreement with the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), with the new partnership being celebrated at next month’s Final at the CSIO Barcelona in the Real Club de Polo. Longines, which became the FEI’s first Top Partner in 2013, has also extended its global partnership with the FEI in a historic agreement signed in Gothenburg (SWE) today.
HOLA and Cavalleria Toscana sign a partnership agreement with CSIO Barcelona
This edition, the CSIO Barcelona will work with two new partners. HOLA has just signed an agreement as media partner of the Barcelona International Jumping Course, while Cavalleria Toscana, a company which produces sports clothing for riders, will be co-sponsor of the event.
Emilio Zegrí Boada, new president of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona Foundation
The current president of the Federació Catalana d’Hípica (Catalonian Equestrian Federation), vice president of the Real Federación Hípica Española (Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation), and until now, CSIO Barcelona president, Emilio Zegrí Boada, has been appointed the new president of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona Foundation, replacing Luis Comas Martínez de Tejada, who held the position for the past five years.
Olímpic, the #BCNalgalop horse, starts it’s adventure at the Tibidabo
The day has finally arrived! After the stellar performance at the Final Party of the Joc dels Jocs this June, Olímpic, the fiberglass horse that stars in the second edition of the #bcnalgalop action at the Barcelona Equestrian Challenge (BECH), has arrived at the Tibidabo this morning. The horse was designed and painted by the students at Virolai Grimm school in Barcelona, and will make a tour of Barcelona this summer, with Tibidabo amusement park being the first stop. The horse will visit various locations in anticipation of the most exciting equestrian competition of the year in September: the CSIO Barcelona.
“L’Eixample” wins the “A Jump for the City” competition
Maica Avenido and Jialen Yangji from the Massana School in Barcelona have won the latest edition of the “A Jump for the City” competition, with their project entitled “L’Eixample”. This obstacle, still in the form of a model, will be built at the Real Club de Polo carpentry shop and will become part of the CSIO Barcelona 2017 courses.
